The Poseidon concept

Poseidon is a concept for a floating power plant that transforms wave energy into electricity. The power plant furthermore serves as a floating foundation for offshore windmills, thus creating a sustainable energy hybrid.

A Poseidon 230 metre scale plant is expected to perform as follows:

• Be modularised
• Be a flexible platform for renewable energy solutions (wind, wave, solar power etc.)
• Be scalable for different locations
• Be a combination of FPP's IPR and core knowhow of key technology areas, together with standard off-shore solutions.
• Be optimal to combine with off-shore wind turbine parks, because of the many synergies, eg.
  • Utilization of the same site infrastructure
  • An integrated concession process
  • Increased service window for the wind turbines park, because of Poseidon's protective capabilities by reducing the waves behind the platform
